Cable gave Shatterstar his promise in helping him fight for his cause. But due to the time differnces between his world and Earth, Shatterstar was in no hurry to go back home, maybe because he was able to find two things that were foreign to him back home...Freindship and inner peace. His time spent with X-Force was quite enjoyable for him. He was actually challenged in this world against equal opponants, and found a good freind within X-Force teammate Rictor. Throughout his adventures, we find more and more new stuff about the young lad. He has a mutant ability to shoot deadly energy blasts through his blades, but prefers not to use it because of his pride and honor of being a skilled warrior (X-Force #28). And also we learned that he has a wife back on Mojoworld named Windsong (X-Force #30). But none could throw us for the surprise than the origin of Shatterstar (X-Force #59-61). Turns out that Shatterstar's soul has been reincarnated as a weak collage studant named Benjamin Russell. It was a very confusing story, one of the worst in X-Force history. But if I read it correctly, It turns out Shatterstar died in battle on Mojoworld when Mojo gained power again, and his soul was reincarnated in Bejamin Russell's body at the request of Gamesmaster, and he never knew the differnce. Hopefully the writers at Marvel will fix this mess real soon. Soon after that Shatterstar and Rictor left the group, but popped up once again in a brief story in which Rictor was kidnapped by Arcade and the only way for him to be released was for Shatterstar to defeat former X-Force teammate, Domino, in battle...which neither of them won by the way (X-Force #76).
Not much to tell about Shatterstar because his role with X-Force seemed very little. But his presance with the team led to many victories and gave the team a new way to fight its battles, Hardcore!
