Rictor

Rictor was one of the last few to join up with the New Mutants before Professor Xavier left comand of the team. He has the mutant ability to create Vibriority Shockwaves at his will. But before that time, he was growing up in Guadalajara Mexico. As The son of Mexico's notorious black market arms dealer (Louis Richter), Rictor had the oppertunity to follow in the family business. But due to his moral conflicts, the discovery of his mutant power, and the fact that his father was murdered by a mutant (Stryfe), Rictor decided to join up with The New Mutants. After a time of many adventures with the roster, he left the team shortly after Cable came in control (due to the fact that he believed Cable murdered his father).

Rictor once again popped up soon after X-Force was formed up. This time as a member of Weapon PRIME, a strikeforce developed by GW bridge to specificlly bring Cable to justice (X-Force #12-13). After letting his old friends from the former New Mutants talk some sence into him, he finally came to terms that It was Stryfe (Cable's clone) that killed his father and not Cable (X-Force #25). Once he was fighting alongside his freinds from the New Mutants again, he quickly began a close freindship with X-Force member Shatterstar. The two amigos were quite enseperable during their time together with X-Force. Constantly looking out for one another, Ric and Shatty became the teams ultimate weapon, due to thier hot tempers, and explosive abilities. Rictor left the team as soon as the Age of Apocalypse had ended, so he wouldn't have to put up with Cable's constant prying into his past (X-Force #44), but returned once again to help out hie compadre Shatterstar in his own time of crisis (X-Force #59). But left again soon after that when he and Shatterstar felt it was best to leave the team behind. Since then they have shown up again, this time Ric was kidnapped by Arcade and could only be released if Shatterstar could defeat X-Force teammate Domino in a battle to the death (X-Force #76).

Rictor's life with X-Force has shown readers that he is almost always a deciding factor on the battlefeild. His explosive attitude has led to many successful missions in X-Force history. And it was also really cool to see him as a modern day "Fidel Castro" in the alternate reality of "Gambit & the X-Ternals". Many marvel spies have predicted the return of both Rictor and Shatterstar in the near future.
