Cable

Half mutant, half cyborg, all bad-ass! Cable is the leader, founder and mentor of the teenage terrorist misfits known as X-Force. But the trip to get where he is today wasn't exactly a path carved in gold. Cable was born as Nathan Christopher Summers to the parents of Scott Summers and Madilyne Pryor (Uncanny X-Men #201). Infected with a Techno-Organic virus at infancy, Nathan was entrusted to the care of a woman known only as Askani. Nathan was then taken 2000 years into the future to be cured. Using his mutant abilities to keep the virus at bay, Nathan adopted the name Cable, and led the future rebellion against the tyrant known as Apocalypse.

After losing the war in his timeline, Cable traveled back through the years to find a special individual who has the ability to defeat Apocalypse in his early years. At the start of this quest he ran several years with a mercenary group known as the "Six-pack". As the months passed, Cable said good-bye to the pack due to his finding of paticular mutant he was looking for...Samual Guthrie.

Cable then treked to Xaiver's to join up and eventually take over leadership of the "New Mutants" (New Mutants #87). After old members left and new ones were recruited, Cable put the New Mutants on a differnt path and re-dubbed them as X-Force (New Mutants #100/X-Force #1). The new team wouldn't recieve the credit and respect normally presented to them however due to Cable's refusal to cooperate with SHIELD and its commanding officer GW Bridge (X-Force #4), a former freind of Cable as well as Six-pack teammate.

Finding himself getting emotionaly attached to X-force, he left the team to hunt out his enemies Toliver and Stryfe (X-Force #14), which just so happened to end with his death (X-Force #18). Since returning from the grave (X-Force #25), Cable then re-joined with X-Force, and from that time he has learned so many things...his origin, his future destiny, his father, his brother, and his true feelings for fellow teammate Domino.

However a relationship with Domino was not possible at the time due to the appearance of Onslaught, once that ordeal was over the US government launched operation: Zero Tollerance. Because of his over protective nature, Cable wanted to take X-Force underground and keep them safe from Op: ZT, but he found that the team had now grown up and assummed they could make their own decisions. X-force and Cable parted ways (X-Force #68), and soon after that Domino had left him behind. For the first time in his life, Cable was fighting solo. Taking one day at a time, Cable welcomes the oncoming future just like everything else that is unknown to him.
