Oh, yeah! This is a great game! There is a single player mode, two to four player timed mode, and a two to four player stock mode, where each person has a the set number of lives and when everyone on a team loses all of their lives, the game is over. There are also two bonus stages for each character in the game. The characters include: Yoshi, Pikachu, Link, Fox McCloud, Mario, Kirby, Samus, Donkey Kong, Jiggly Puff, Captain Falcon, Ness, and Luigi. Wow, thats a lot of famous nintendo characters all one game!!!! In one of the two bonus stages, you must use your character's every move to hit bullseyes. In the second one, you need to use your character to jump on different platforms which are in hard-to-reach places. Each of the characters have a lot of the same moves, but some are different. Here's a list of moves they all have:Grab the edge, low attack, high attack, toss, special abilities, back flip, basic jump, crouch, dash, free fallin', splat, trap doors, free fall, up an at em', jumping, landing, dizz spell, oops, pick up objects, reverse direction, dash attack, brakes, short jump, sleep, standby, taunt, turn, walk, double jump, power up, upward super attack, downward super attack, triple jump, smooth landing, barrel canyon, boing, break fall, warp pipe, clobbering items, emergency evasion, flight, item huling, thow an item, sheild, shooting items, AND THATS JUST A LIST OF THE COMMON MOVES!!!!!! Each character also has their own special moves!!!!!!!!
It was time for the annual Heroes Convention at Princess Peach's Castle. All the heroes were there...but they were all upset. They couldn't agree on who was the greatest Hero of them all.
"I think I should be the greatest," Mario said, holding his head up high.
"Why should you be?" said Fox, walking up to Mario.
"Because I've had more games than anyone here combined!"
"Yeah, but they all haven't been hits!" Samus Aran piped in. "'Mario's Time Machine'? What was that?"
"Oh, you think you're better?" Mario replied.
"You don't think I'm hero material because I'm a girl?" Samus steamed.
"Huh! Well, have any of you ever faced down an evil drooling space ape?" Fox joined in.
"No, but how about your normal everyday drooling ape?" Mario said
"Hey! I heard that!" said Donkey Kong, joining the argument. "I'm just a big a hero as you all are!"
"Please! You've been kidnapped twice in a row!" grumbled Mario.
"I believe I'm be the greatest." Link said walking up. "I've traveled through time and space to save Hyrule!"
"Big deal!" Yoshi said. "You think it's easy having Mario ride on me? I should get hazard pay for that!"
"What about me?" yelled Kirby. "I can take on the powers of my enemies!"
"Yeah, you can beat up a bunch of marshmellow enemies!...whoopee!" Samus retorted. "I eat baddies like that for breakfast!"
"Pika!!!!!" Pikachu yelled. Everyone stopped arguing and looked at him.
"Pikaaa! Pi Pi Pikaa Chu Chu!"
"Uh...right..." Mario said.
The argument continued as Luigi and Princess Peach looked on.
"Luigi, you've got to do something! This is getting worse than an episode of Terry Springster!" Luigi walked up to the heroes and held his hands up. "Quiet down, everyone! If you all want to decided once and for all who the greatest hero..."
"Ahem!" Samus said.
"...or heroine is, I have an idea!" Luigi said.
"What's your idea, little brother?" Mario asked.
"We have a tournament, no holds barged, and we see who has the skills to become a hero!"
"Hmmm....not a bad idea..." Fox said.
"Sounds good to me!" Donkey Kong said.
"Pika Pika!" Pikachu said.
And so, the greatest challenge of their lives began.....
Character Color Change
On the character select screen, select the character you wish to use, then press C Down, C Left, or C Right to get an alternate costume or colors for that character. Press C Up to revert back to the original colors.
Play as Luigi
To activate everyone's favorite neglected plumber, finish Practice Bonus Stage One with each of the eight main characters. Luigi will then show up and challenge you. Defeat him to add him to your line-up.
Play as Capt. Falcon
To activate the F Zero star, you must defeat the game at any level with any character within 20 Minutes. Falcon will then challenge you. Defeat him and he's yours.
Play as Jigglypuff T
o open up the cute Pokemon, defeat the game. Defeat Jigglypuff when she challenges you and you'll get her.
Play as Ness
To play as the Earthbound star, you must first defeat the game on Normal, with only three lives and no continues. Defeat Ness when he challenges you and you'll win him.
Sound Test
Defeat Practice Bonus Stages 1 and 2 with all the characters, including the secret ones. The sound test will then show up in the Data Option.
Borrow a Life
When playing a team multiplayer match,you can steal a life from one of the players by pressing A+B+Z+Start.
Item Menu
Play the Versus Mode 50 times and an item menu will become unlocked. The menu enables you to set all the multiplayer options you would wish for. You can determine which items will show up in the battles, and which won't.
Classic Mushroom Kingdom
To access the hidden classic Mario World 1 stage, beat the game's one-player mode with each character. At the end, the game will tell you that you can now access Classic Mushroom Kingdom in the versus mode.
Credits Fun
When you beat the game and the credits start to roll, you can use the Control Stick to move the cursor in the middle of the screen. Press B while the cursor is pointed at a name to stop the credits from scrolling to learn a little bit more about that person.
Profile Fun
On the character profile menu, you can move the characters by holding Z and moving the stick.
