Chapter 5

A loud laugh came from him. "Oh my dear, I didn't really know where you had gone to, you left when the sun rose, I thought that surely you would have been burned alive!" He said with amusement. "Kevin?" Howie asked. "Yes Howie. I am the one that took your life away that night."He said plainly. Silence had gripped the room as tention gathered. "Well, Kevin, to bad for you I didn't die!" She hissed and plunged at him. Nick jumped into her path, grabbing her. "Not here!" He siad. She glared at him. "This is not the place and you know that."He said. Howie came to her side and took her from Nick. He just held her feeling her anger rushing from her like a wave. Kevin just smiled, knowing she could not touch him. "As for you," Nick said turning to Kevin. "You should leave the room now." He demanded courtly. Kevin just smiled showing his fangs. "As you wish." He said bowing to her, not taking his eyes off her. She growled low enough for her sire to hear. He backed out of the room, knowing if he turned his back she would shurely attack him no matter what Nick had said. When he had left the room and she knew he was gone she turned into Howie's arms and began to cry. "Baby, it's ok." He said wrapping his arms around her.Then all at once she turned from his arms in anger. "How dare he think me dead! He has spent all those centuries with me, and he thought me dead!!"Her anger rushing the room making it feel like the air was full of static. "Damn him to hell!" She said with tears streaming down her face. "He will be taken care of." Nick said. "I've been traking him down, and finnaly we all came together here, in this group. He had promised that he would never take on that life again." He said with almost no emotion. "I'm sorry Howie, I never told you it was him that had disturbed both of your lives." This time with tears slidding down his cheeks. "See, when you decided to take this life I was able to at least keep that memorie from awakening." He said with the tears dripping off his chin. "But he did promise, not to take a life again, so that should make for something. Shouldn't it?"Howie asked. His sweetness still so evedint. She growled low from anger building within her. "Nick I thatnk you for trying. You are older and stonger than us both." She said walking to him. "But make no mistake, just because he promised to you, and you haven't heard of any deaths, does not mean he hasn't or won't!" She said wipping his tears. "And I will kill him." She said shortly.
