Gas Huffer, "Just Beautiful Music"

(Epitaph)
I had heard of these guys before, but didn't know where (it's their fifth album, so it makes sense). When I started this CD, I just figured it was another eneric Epitaph punk band. By the time the album ended, I realized how wrong I really was. Most songs borerline the alternative/punk line, and their lyric (songs like "Rotten Egg", "Clay Pigeon") parallel NOFX in depth. So, that leaves the music, which varies. A few fast guitars work well in some songs, while others are lacking a soul all together. In the end, the quality songs just edge out the bad pulling a 3 '12.
