The New Girl III

by Melody

Michelle took Dawson's advice and returned to school the next day. She avoided him and his friends as much as possible. If I intend to get through this, I'm gonna have to lead the quiet life.
Dawson spotted her however, and ran up to catch her. "Michelle, gotta minute?"
Michelle sighed. "I guess. What's up?"
"I was looking for you all day. You weren't trying to avoid me, were you?"
Michelle took Dawson into one of the empty classrooms. "Dawson, I agreed to come back and try this. And the last thing I want to do it lose you as a friend. But I don't think this friendship thing can work. I can't deal with the other three. And they're always around you. If it were just you and I, that would be great. I'm not asking you to ditch your friends, I wouldn't do that. So to make things easier, I was simply avoiding the situation."
"I know you don't get along with them. But that doesn't mean we can't be friends."
"Dawson, it's more than that. I'm scared to be around you."
"You? Scared? I can't imagine that. What do you have to be scared of?"
Michelle looked away. "I can't really explain it to you Dawson. I like you, a lot, and I don't want to get you in any trouble."
Dawson walked around to face her. "How will I get in trouble? For what?"
Instead of answering, Michelle kissed him passionately. For several seconds they were locked with each other until Michelle pulled away. "That's what I'm talking about. I'm sure you're not prepared to deal with that. So there's my reasons for avoiding you."
Dawson didn't say a word. Instead, he kissed her, and again they were lost in the moment. They finally stopped when they heard the second bell ring. Dawson smiled. "We're late for class."
Michelle just said, "I don't care," and they continued to kiss until they realized people would be needing this classroom. "Dawson, if this is truly what you want, meet me in the library seventh period. Okay?"
Dawson agreed and left the classroom. They met up in the library later that day and the entire time they made out in the non-fiction section.

When Dawson got home, he searched for his dad. "Hey Dad, can I talk to you for a minute?"
Mitch Leery put down his newspaper. "What is it Dawson?"
Dawson sat down. "I'm sort of seeing this girl. And I don't know if I should or not."
"Who? Jen or Joey?"
"Neither one. Michelle."
"She seems nice. What's wrong with her?"
"It's hard to explain. When I kissed Jen, it felt like it meant something. Not that Michelle doesn't mean anything. When I kiss Michelle, it's like I don't want to stop. She gets very passionate when she kisses."
Mitch just nodded his head. "I had one of those. The type you can't resist. They kind of put a spell on you and you desire them all day."
Dawson agreed. "I didn't even know there was that side of me. It was so forceful, passionate, and I kept going back for more. With Jen, it was like one kiss each day that lasted a few seconds. With Michelle, it's minutes of kissing, and several times a day. And I can't wait for the next time we have a few seconds alone. Does this make any sense?"
"Sure it does. I don't see what's wrong with it though. If you both enjoy it, what's the problem?"
Dawson thought about telling his father Michelle's age. But he decided against it. No point in ruining the situation. "I just didn't know if that type of thing was normal."
"Dawson, remember the last time we talked about kissing? There are several more kinds of kissing than just one. Michelle seems to enjoy a different way than Jen. As long as you have no problem with it, then there's nothing wrong."
Dawson stood up. "Thanks Dad."
"Anytime Dawson."

Before going to Michelle's apartment, Dawson stopped at Pacey's house. "So Dawson, what's going on?"
"I have a serious question for you Pacey. And you must swear you wont breath a word of this to anyone."
"Secrets, my favorite. Hey, you can trust me Leery." Pacey smiled mischievously. "This is about Michelle, isn't it."
Dawson sat on the porch. "Yeah. Pacey, I don't know what I'm getting myself into."
"Dawson, what's the problem? Michelle is hot. I tried to put the moves on her, she shot me down hard."
"She told me. I just think I'm way over my head with her. She's so much more mature than I am."
"You mean experienced Dawson."
"That too. But she drives me crazy!"
"Hormones. That's all it is Dawson. And now that you realize you can't handle it, hand her over to me."
"Pacey, she'd kill you."
"I know. That's why I want her."
"God Pacey, sometimes I wonder why we're still friends. Why do you have to be completely sick and disgusting all the time?"
"Dawson, face it. That's the way she is. The word is dirty, nasty, however you want to put it. And you're just scared because you like it."
Dawson opened his mouth in protest, but decided against it. Pacey was right, he did like it. "I don't know what I'm doing anymore Pacey. I mean just a little while ago I couldn't figure out where my life was going. Then I met Jen, and she changed that. But then things didn't work with Jen. And there's still Joey. God knows what's going on with her. We hardly talk anymore, and I miss her. And suddenly Michelle is thrown at me."
"Poor Dawson Leery. So many women so little time."
"Pacey, it's not like that at all."
"You just better be careful Dawson. Here comes lady number two right behind ya."
Dawson turned around and Joey was standing there. "Hey."
"Hey Joey. What are you doing here?"
"Looking for you actually. You gotta minute?"
Dawson looked at Pacey. "Thanks for the talk Pacey."
"Anytime Dawson."
Pacey walked back into the house leaving Joey and Dawson alone. "So Joey, what's up?"
"I've been thinking about a lot of things lately Dawson. Mostly things between us. What happened with us Dawson?"
"I've been trying to figure that out too. We haven't been talking lately, and it's killing me Joey. We used to talk about everything. And suddenly I find myself running out of people to talk to. I know I'm in trouble when I'm actually talking to Pacey about serious stuff."
"That serious stuff wouldn't happen to include a new girl named Michelle, would it?"
Dawson looked away.
"It's okay Dawson. You can talk to me about her if you want."
"But that's just it Joey, I don't think I can. I mean I know I could, but I don't feel comfortable doing so. And that hurts more than anything Joey. Because I'd hate to lose our friendship."
"People change Dawson. Things change. We have no control over it, it just happens. And I just wanted you to know that no matter what happens I want things between us to stay the same. I've missed you so much these last couple of weeks, even though I see you every day. And that hurts me."
Dawson stood up and gestured for Joey to do the same. They began walking, silent for a while with each others words. "So, you up for a friendly conversation?"
"Spill it Dawson, what's going on."
Dawson filled her in on the details of Michelle. He explained to her everything he had told Pacey, his dad, everything he was feeling. And although Joey didn't really want to hear it, she listened anyway. "Dawson, please don't take this the wrong way, because I'd hate for us to not speak again, but I think this girl is a whole lot of trouble. I mean how much do we really know about her? She lives on her own, which puts her age well over ours. She comes here from nowhere, never talks about herself, I don't know Dawson. I just don't trust her."
"Come on, Joey. How many people do you tell your life story to?"
Joey just looked away.
"God, I'm sorry Joey. But it's true, isn't it? I mean maybe her background is worse than yours, and she just doesn't feel comfortable talking about it."
"Did you hear about what happened with her and Jen?"
"No, what happened?"
"It's not really my place to say Dawson. But I know Jen was a little upset about it."
"You know I don't get Jen. She breaks up with me, then tries to be friends with any girl I talk to."
"What do you mean?"
"She tries so hard to be your best friend Joey. And she wants to be buddies with Michelle now? Doesn't that seem a little weird to you?"
"Dawson, I'm not one to judge somebody. But I think Jens just trying to stay close to you through me. And if Michelle's the new one in your life, then Jen wants to be friends with her. It's not like Jen really talks to anyone but us. When you get down to it, I think Jen's just lonely."
"Wow Joey. I think that's the first time you said anything remotely nice about Jen."
"Yeah, well. Like I said, people change. She's not all that bad. Besides, you've been too busy, so I had no one else to talk to."
