1. assorted shapes of macaroni that have a hole to string them.
2. elastic string
3. poster paints, assorted colors
4. glitter (optional)
1.Select the shapes you want & paint them with poster paint. You can finger paint, brush it or dab it on with a sponge or rag to get textured effects, dip the ends, or drizzle paint over the macaroni for awhimsical effect.For best results let each color dry before adding a second color to the same piece of macaroni.
Option: glittter can be sprinkled on when the paint is wet, shake of excess when dry.(Not recommended for children under 5 years)
2.Cut the elastic string to the desired size, either necklace or bracelet, string the painted macaroni on, tie in a double knot and you have jewelry for gift giving or fun to wear pieces.
Options for older children 8 years or older: Create earrings or pins.
Extra materials needed:
Pin backs or earring backs (available in most craft supply stores). Assorted beads to glue on the painted macaroni. Example: bows, or pinwheel shapes make great earrings or pins.
