The breezes of the bay are starting to grow colder. Winter is upon our heroes. The holidays will not be the same for any of them. They have sworn to hide their identities til the time is right. It has been a month since our Heroes first met at Golden Gate Park. Haven seems to making great progress. LaughWave has proven himself worthy to lead the group. The Star Souls find themselves having to adjust to new surroundings. Each one has found a part-time job. We find Digitrix standing in the rain as TimeWeaver goes out to talk to him.
TimeWeaver: "Penny for your thoughts?"
Digitrix: "Hey Jimmie. Just thinking about my sister. This is going to be the first Christmas without any family for me. The fact that Leondra might not come back to us is finally sinking in."
TimeWeaver: "Hey man, don't think like that. She's gonna be fine. And we're your family now. We're here for each other. That's what we have agreed on."
Digitrix: "Thanks, Jimmie. Well, let's get to that meeting. We are finally gonna kick some butt!"
{They head into the conference room where all the others have already gathered}
LaughWave: "Time to get down to business. We have all trained hard. Now it's time to put that training to use. There has been no sign of the Necro Souls, and to be honest, I'm starting to worry. Without Haven, we can't locate them. So this is what we are doing. I'm assinging each of you a mission. There has been a increase in liquor store and pawn shop hold ups. Prizmix, LipGloss, and myself will handle this mission. Someone has been broken into the University of Berkeley Campus and University of San Francisco Campus. These people have stolen some valuable information on plant growth and animal mind control. Mantrix and PoleRider will take on this mission. This next mission is perfect for Digitrix and TimeWeaver. Silicon Valley has been under attack by two thieves. They are stealing vital cryogenic technology and information. That's right up both your alley's. These assignments are to test our skills. The people that have done these crimes could be linked to the Necro Souls. I don't have enough information to be sure. And now I hand your attention to our host, TazSpice."
TazSpice: "Geesh! I'm not just your host. I'm one of you guys. But thanks. Digitrix and I have worked on these comlink devices. They are small and are easily concealed. Just press on it and talk. You can contact the base or any of the other Star Souls. Any questions?"
PoleRider: "When do we start?"
LaughWave: "Lets' get cracking! Meeting ajourned!"
{The eager group breaks off into three teams. Meanwhile our friend Michael Woods is getting ready to do another hold up. His powers to morph into anything helps him with his crime spree. He has decided to go by the name of Masquerade.}
Masquerade: "I do this for you son. *MORPH*! *OLD LADY* Hands Up Sonny! Hand over the Cash!"
Clerk: "Anything! Just don't shoot me!"
Masquerade: "Thanks! And have a Merry Christmas! Sorry man. Nothing personal! Gotta go!"
{He grabs the cash and heads for the door. By chance, LipGloss, Prizmix, and LaughWave were driving by and saw the hold up in progress}
LipGloss: "Drop the gun old lady!"
Masquerade: "Who you calling old lady? You freak in spandex! *MORPH*! *NINJA STEALTH* Have a good day you freaks!"
Prizmix: "Damn! Did you see that? Let's kick her, his, I mean it's butt! *YELLOW RED ORANGE ON* Come back here man. The party has just begun!"
LaughWave: "Don't run man! *SONIC LAUGH SURROUND* Turn yourself in!"
LipGloss: "Time to kick it into 2nd gear. *INFINITY DIVINE POWER* I am the mighty LipGloss!"
Masquerade "Catch me if you can rainbow mophead! LipGloss? How boring. I'll leave you stuck on stupid! *MORPH*! *ANGEL WINGS* Oh boi. You can fly too!"
{LaughWave flies right in front of Masquerade as he tries to take flight}
Masquerade: "Why don't you people mind your own business!"
LipGloss: "This is our business! Now are you gonna cooperate? Or do we have to get violent?"
LaughWave: "LipGloss.. Prizmix.. Relax. Are you the one who has been doing all these hold ups? What's your name? How did you morph like that?"
Masquerade: "The name is Maquerade and you're not the cops. I don't have to answer you. Where did you get your powers from?"
LaughWave: "We can help you. We couldn't understand our powers. We have trained hard to use our powers. We came together. We're the good guys. If you don't want to talk to me. Then you can talk to the police. I'm sure there is a reward for you."
Masquerade: "Cops can't touch me and neither will you clowns! Bye! Ha Ha Ha! *MORPH*! *FOG* Ha Ha Ha Ha!
Prizmix: "Dammit! He turned into fog! How the hell did he do that? We should've kicked his foggy butt!"
LipGloss: "He's not a bad guy. I could see it in his eyes. Something or someone else is driving him. Atleast he didn't get away with the money!"
LaughWave: "I saw the fear in his eyes. We have to catch him and find out what or who makes him do these hold ups. Let's head back to base!"
{As they make thier way back to the base, Masquerade visits his son that has gone into a coma at St. Mary's Hospital}
Masquerade: "Don't worry Andrew. I won't let those freaks interfere. You just get better for me. Then we can go home, away from this crazy place. I love you. I'll come back tomorrow. I promise."
{Back at the Base of Star Souls}
TazSpice: "So you say he morphed into these things by saying them out loud?"
LipGloss: "Yeah man, it was the craziest thing I had ever seen. Not even SnapShot morphs that fast. Come to think of it, neither does Charade."
Prizmix: "That was cool how he turned into a Ninja Angel. I should have burned his wings off."
LaughWave: "We must learn to keep a cool head in these situations. You don't want to do something you might regret later. So, Taz, do you got anything we can use to stop Masquerade?"
TazSpice: "Yeah. If you can plant this on him, it will trace him. It has a remote stun button that will stop him in his tracks. Getting it on him is the hard part."
LaughWave: "Thanks man. What would we do without you? Hehehe. Lets go team! We have a trap to set."
LipGloss/Prizmix: "Now we're talking! Jinx! Hehehe!"
LaughWave: "You two are silly. Get in the car."
{Meanwhile in Silicon Valley, something is not feeling right to James Burg. He has met the woman of his dreams. He is head over heels for Robin DiFranco. He has only known her for two months. To him, it seems like forever. She has convinced him that there is a fortune to be made with thier equal ability to control Ice. Robin calls herself Icicle. James calls himself IceBlitz. They are the ones who have been stealing the cryogenic technology. James questions Robin's motives. He doesn't like stealing. But, he melts at the sound of Robin's voice. He will do anything for her. Closer to home, an alliance between two ladies passionate about what they believe in seems to have taken a criminal turn. Ina Givens who has the power to control animals calls herself, Instinct. Vanessa James is her new partner in crime. She goes by the name of Lady Utopia. She can communicate with plants. Michael "Masquerade" Woods gets ready for his next robbery.}
Masquerade "I sure hope those freaks don't show up again. I would like to talk to them. But they would probably just turn me in for a reward. I can't think about this right now. I have to focus on my son. I'm nothing without him. *MORPH*! *ASIAN TEEN BOY* Nobody get's hurt if you work with me! Money in the bag and I'm gone! Do it now!"
{The lady at the counter faces her robber. Surprise!}
LipGloss: "Give it up. I know that's not a real gun!"
Masquerade "Oh fudge! Not you again! How did you know it was me! Why don't you leave me alone? You're making this harder than it has to be. If you only knew!"
LaughWave "You had your chance to talk. *SONIC LAUGH SURROUND* Now you are on our terms. Do it Prizmix!"
Prizmix: "Si Senor!"
{Prizmix attaches the tracer on Masquerade}
Masquerdae "What did you do to me? That stupid thing hurts!"
LipGloss "Nighty night Masquerade!"
{She stuns him. They put him in the car and take him back to the base}
TazSpice "Are you sure it's okay to bring him here?"
LaughWave: "If he don't cooperate, we'll just turn him into the cops. So he is stuck with us for now. I take it the others haven't reported back in."
TazSpice: "Nope. I hope they get as lucky as you guys have."
LipGloss: "He's waking up. Welcome to our Base Masquerade."
Masquerade: "You kidnap me and then you welcome me? You people are crazy! What are you going to do with me?"
LaughWave: "That depends on you. You have incredible powers like we do. Do you know where you got them from?"
Masquerade: "No. But, okay. I'll talk. But please don't turn me into the cops. My son's life depends on it."
LipGloss: "Your son? What are you doing robbing places? What kind of father are you?"
Masquerade: "The kind of father that will do anything for his son. Look lady. I have a hard time finding work. My powers sometimes get out of control if I don't stay focused. My 14 year old son is sick with this rare disease. The hospital bills are getting out of control. I have to do this for him. I don't have anyone else but him in my life. I do this for him. Any parent that loves their child would do what I do."
Prizmix: "Sorry man. I can only imagine your pain. No hard feelings?"
Masquerade: "What are you gonna do with me?"
LaughWave: "Let's make a deal. You help us with our cause and we'll help you with yours. And you can live here with us. Free of charge."
Masquerade: "Why would you do that for me? All I did was make hell for you."
LaughWave: "You belong here with us. You're one of us. I'll explain. Do you agree to stay here?"
Masquerade "Yes. You promise to help me with Andrew?"
LaughWave: "Yeah. Welcome to our family. Now let's talk about how to get back the things you stole"
Masquerade: "Okay man. So fill me in on all this. This place looks like something out of a Sci-Fi Movie."
Can he be trusted? We shall find out. Will the
rest of the Star Souls agree with LaughWave's
decision to make Masquerade part of the team? Wonder how
the others are doing? All shall be revealed in due
time. Just as always. Nothing can prepare you for
the "Millennium Winter" in 2 weeks. Hell is going
