"We can't have this!" cried Jerrica, angrily, "the rumors weren't even this bad with N Sync! This is terrible!"
"So what!" AJ replied, without a thought, "we hate them, they hate us, end of the story, who cares what the press thinks!"
"The fans care!" David yelled at him, "the fans, who buy the CD's and listen to the music, and buy all the magazines, and merchandise!"
"So, it's affecting them too, then." Brian yelled back, surprisingly, since he was usually much calmer.
"Yeah?" asked Jerrica, icily, "not as much, Brian, not as much, because at least they don't pass out 'their' opinions to the press! you guys should have known better. You could be excused the first time, maybe even the second, but you do it so often, it's 'obvious'!"
"Well, what are we supposed to do about it?" Nick pouted, "we can't just be all 'friends' with them, they're jerks!"
"Yeah.. I get your dilemma, so Jerrica and I spoke to Carrie Frelik, from their management, and we have arranged for a press breaker. We have to get sales back up, bring back the respect of the fans.."
"Well.." urged Howie, "what is it?"
"Well, Ms. Frelik and I have decided on a combination tour, Angel Dust and Backstreet. It'll be terrific, an evolution.."
"You're kidding!" Nick shouted, interrupting, "hell no, ain't gonna do it! I will not work with Mary, Jenna, Chasity and Elise, not ever! Hell no!"
"It's the only way.." David told them, "decide on it, but it's the only way.."
"Well girls," smiled Carrie Frelik, their manager, "how are you all doing today?"
"Fine!" they chorused.
"Well.. I've asked you all to meet here today to discuss.. well... the.."
"Backstreet Boys!" Jenna finished for her.
"Yeah.." Carrie started again, "Jenna and I were in my office when I got a call from David Mossier from over at 'The Firm'. ""And," Jenna added, "y'know about all the rumors that have been going around.. and the bad press we've all been getting.."
"Yeah?" Ellie urged her to hurry on.
"Well," Carrie took over again, "we have decided on a combination tour for y'all. The 'Evolution' tour. 'Angel Dust' can promote 'Shattered Dreams'. and the guys can go with their new album.. what is it called.."
"'The Meaning'." Mary answered, with a smile, "and we're kicking their asses on the chart!" her smile faded, as it snapped, "Wait.. 'us', tour with 'them? Ha ha, funny, Carrie, but it just ain't happening!"
Carrie looked at them all sternly.
"Decide for yourselves girls, right now, if you want the bad press to stop.. it's the only way."
