SPECIAL EDITION

The first Star Wars movie, A New Hope, was released in 1977. It was a big hit, but it was not what Creator/Director George Lucas had envisioned it to be when he first created the movie. His ideas were confined to miniature sets, the many creatures he had in mind were restricted to models with strings that had no real life and movement. It was a time when technology could not support a movie like Star Wars.
Now, 20 years later, Lucas, accomponied by new companies, including THX, Skywalker Sound, Industrial Light & Magic, and LucasFilm Ltd. , recreated the Star Wars trilogy with new enhanced digital effects, just the way Lucas had envisioned. New scenes were added, (below) such as new Tatooine scenes, and many new effects, visual and audio.
