Chapter 1
After staying with the falls for a wile, I suddenly saw a shape in the shadow of the trees. It said: [Hello, little one. Do you wish to be part of our realm?] Then she came out of the shade, and I would swear that she change her shape.
What I now saw was a HUMAN, a young woman to be precise. She had black locks, silvery slanted eyes, and a crystalline horn. She said:
[I am Lady Ka-lin. And your name?]
I was very frightened and also getting very shy.
[You are a human? But what's that horn?]
I menage to get out of my mouth, it wasn't very flattering to myself, I stumbled over every word. Then I reminded myself of my manners and said:
[oh I'm sorry Lady Ka_lin]
I bowed to show gratitude.
[I'm being rude, I'm Isabelle of Emerald or I used to be from that 'place'] I said with dislike. [And yes if you'll have me I want to make this beautiful realm my home.] This was hard to me; I had to control myself not to burst into tears. I couldn't do that of course, I hardly knew and she was a LADY. I would embarrass myself.
The lady smiled. [There is no reason to be scared] She said in mind speak. Something I did to. That's how we, unicorns, speak.
[Hello Isabelle. That's a very pretty name. My name means unicorn in Japanese. What made you leave, if I may ask? No reason to apologize, of course. I understand. I am the daughter of an alicorn and human] She showed me wings that were stuck on her back.
[Is she part bird or something] I thought, but she went on. [and this is my normal form.]
After all this kindness, I felt a little more comfortable and I answered the question. [My formal home is called Emerald, but I was kicked out of it by the other animals, cuz I can shift in to other forms; And the worst of it was that I could shift into human. Look, in my mind there are pictures of other animals and one time a picture of human popped up and I thought: I wanna know how that feels like; to be human, I didn't knew the word then of course. But when I turned everybody turned their back on me, cuz humans are not welcome on Emerald. I tried and convinced them that I won't shift anymore, cuz they disliked the idea, but that I could it was enough to KICK me out]
I was very angry now. I wasn't scared or shy anymore. but I then remembered something; The next thing was a little act of my, that I used at Emerald also, because if they knew I had met a human, they would hunt her down and killed her, they made that very clear to me after my shifting act. Only then they told me about humans and how they are and that they are not welcome on Emerald. So I put on the act.
[But the picture had to come from somewhere? Don't you think? I only had a picture in my head after I saw the animal a live. Are there any humans on the isle? Maybe on the east side, nobody ever explored that part, cuz a basilisk lives there and everyone is afraid of him, what ever he is? I wandered to the east of not very long before the picture came but I can't remember anything from that walk.]
All of this was act, of course I knew were I went; but I won't think of it, because maybe she can read my mind and then maybe somehow it gets to Emerald and then the people over there are going to kill little Marjam. Then I remembered that Kalin was a lady and that I was been quit for along time, and I asked:
[Can I stay, your highness?]
