Chapter 4

Falling forward, Ann laughed,"It's not the rock's fault you fell over it."

"Now you two, be careful!", laughed Damon as he helped them up.

    "Yes papa,"snickered Leigh,"Okay Damon, we'll be careful."

Giving the rock bad looks, Leigh walked ahead.  She stoped suddenly and gasped,"Damon...Damon!"

He looked up at her and rushed to her side, followed closely by Ann.  As soon as she realize what Leigh was screaming about she backed up, almost falling over Leigh.

In front of them was a bubbling pool of green acid.  It smelled awful and looked just as bad.

"Alright, we'll just walk around it."sudgested Damon, but it was easier said than done.  The other side of the pool was only 20 feet away, but it was very long.  It seemed to go on for miles.

Ann took a deep breath and closed her eyes.  A small crystal bridge apeared in front of them going across the pool.  Surprised, Damon backed up into Ann.  "Ouch!  Hurry, Damon, Leigh, across the bridge!"

Still surprised, Damon and Leigh ran across the crystal bridge.  Slowly, Ann stated across.  "This bridge will disapear soon, but I can't seem to move."

Just as she got to the edge, the bridge disapeared from underneath her.  Not knowing what he was doing, Damon reached out and caught her.

"Ann!", screamed Leigh,"Hang on Damon!".  Leigh held onto Damon as he pulled Ann up.

He sat her down on the soft grass, still shooken up, she whispered,"We need to keep going.  We need to find the unicorn."

"Calm down Ann, you're okay now, you're safe.  We're here with you.", reassured Leigh.

Something from behind let out a shreiking roar.  Damon turned around and blinked hard.
