A little girl stands in the meadow, sobbing. She has her mother's white mane and crystalin
horn, and her fsther's amber eyes and elven ears. The infant sits, and begins to
write.
My name is Nemonie. My mommy was a unicorn, and my daddy was an elf. We have funny ears. My
mommy held a high position, but daddy was poor. They fell in love, but they
didn't know they could have a baby. That is what my mommy said. When she was
pregnant, she hid it well. But when I was born, they told her to take her
disfigured child and leave. They said they would not bother her if she never
came back. They killed my daddy. She found the house in flames. So we traveled
on alone, looking for love and shelter. Before she could find it, bad men came
and took us. They made her hurt. and cry alot. I wanted the man men to go away.
One day mommy tried to leave with me. They killed her too. So I started a
fire.... I didn't mean to hurt anyone, it just came. And the bad men were gone.
I walked for a long, long time. I want my mommy to come back. I am scared and
hungry.
