Identify waste and pollution resulting from a manufacturing enterprise.
This corresponds to the Industrial Pollution students will be required to understand in order to answer the questions and create the poster accordingly.
Identify different areas where health can be affected by air, water or land pollution.
While completing the webquest, students will be required to understand the effects that different types of water pollution has on the health of plant and animal life in the ocean.
Identify actions that can prevent or reduce waste pollution.
Students will create a poster which will explain ways in which society can help prevent waste pollution in the Earth's waters.
Identify sources of pollution.
Each task throughout the webquest requires each of the four students in the group to identify one of the four types of water pollution which is presented.
Describe how people can reduce pollution.
Students will be asked to give solutions to each of the four types of water pollution discussed throughout the webquest. They will also be required to present these solutions on their final poster.
Identify residential and industrial sources of pollution and their effects on environmental health.
Students will explore both residential and industrial pollution when differentiating among the four types of water pollution.
Explain the difference between point and nonpoint source pollution.
Students will be asked to identify which types of water pollution are point or non-point sources of pollution when answering the follow-up questions found throughout the webquest.
