We will start by discussing the 7 Millennium Items. This week we still study the Millennium Rod  Like all the Millennium Items the Rod or the scepter has exsisted for many years. It also has the power to start "Shadow Games", these games can bring the players into an alternate realm, summoning real Duel Monsters, and inflicting a penalty upon the losers which could affect the mind or body or both. Each Item possesses its own unique abilities.  This item grants the holder the power of bending the wills of others through mind control, and also lets its user telepathically communicate with his/her servants. The rod acts as a sword, since it has a sword hidden inside it, and the shaft can be used as a sheath. Marik Ishtar is the user of the rod. He was one of the many to endured a painful ritual, against his will, which gave birth to his dark side, Dark Marik, he then took the Millennium Rod and used the blade to kill his own father. Then started on his quest for world domination. A false Millennium Rod was created and given to Odion Ishtar, who was disguising himself as Marik at the time.
