Read and Create Jobs!

You'll never look at a book the same way again!

Have you ever picked up a book at a yard sale or anywhere for a quarter or 50 cents, and wondered how much good ONE BOOK can make?

So I asked myself--could  a book help create jobs?  A lot of jobs?

Yes, the ideas in a book could do that.

Then I thought, what about a Library that lends out books for a fee, and then uses that
fee to create jobs!

So how could we generate money from used or nearly new books, so that people could be hired and new jobs would be created?

Simple, I thought.  Create a lending library, and charge different rates for rentals.

What would happen if a renter/patron failed to return the book  to us.

Simple, again.  They would simply own the book.  Their rental fee would then be their purchase price.

Would people balk at the rental prices?

Maybe, I thought.  But everyone has options.

Those people that wanted cheap books would go to a yard sale or a thrift store.
Those people that wanted new books would go to a bookstore or buy one online.

But those readers that wanted to CREATE JOBS for the world's most unique library could rent  books from our library, knowing in advance that 80% of their money would go to wages for new jobs.  The reader would then become the job creator!

Ultimately, what could this Visionary library do?

I decided to dream BIG!

Here's what I came up with in September 2004:

1.    Create 1,000 new jobs in all 50 states and Washington DC.
2.    Create hundreds of online books that people can buy!
3.    Create some very cool useful software and games for people.
4.    Buy 2 or 3 ranches, and put some  very exciting libraries on them!

Why is this all possible?

Because you and I believe it is possible.  It exists, and it grows!

As we start out, part-time jobs will be created.  Full-time jobs will be created as we grow even more!

Why did I receive this vision or idea?

I really don't know.

The idea came to me, and I said:  YES!

Regular libraries are paid for by taxes.  Regular bookstores are either operated by independent booksellers or big corporations.

Martin's Ghost Town Library is a library that rents and sells books.  With one slight innovation.

Just as Fred Smith of Fed Ex would sometimes say that Fed Ex was a software company that just happened to have 3,000 airplanes, I will say this about my Ghost Town Library:

This is an online lending library that also happens to be creating jobs for 1,000 people, and builds 3 fabulous libraries on 3 fabulous ranches!

Visions are true!  They come true  and delight many people!  Thank you for being a part of this!
