Here are some photos of the Kleinschmidts starting with Nicholas Kleinschmidt who immigrated to the United States in 1854 along with his wife, and family. One of his sons, August, served with the North during the Civil war and, as a result, was given a tree farm in South Dakota near Blunt. He moved there with his wife and family which included his son Albert Frank who was the grandfather of Ben and Chet.
