Dale Robert Peckham, 43 of Glenwood, IA died February 16, 2007 as a result of a tragic plane crash near Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Celebration of life services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2007 in St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Clark, SD. Rev. Bill Hamak will be officiating. Burial will follow the service in St. Boniface Cemetery near Clark. Visitation will be held on Friday evening, February 23, 2007 from 5-8pm at the Arne Funeral Home in Clark.

Dale was born September 30, 1963 to Robert and Marcella (Hess) Peckham in Watertown, SD. He attended and graduated from Clark High School in 1982. He was a member of the National Honor Society and participated in football, track and wrestling.

In his senior year of high school, Dale was crowned the 126 pound SD State Champion and received numerous honors for athletics and academics.

Upon graduation, Dale worked for the family business for a short time before attending South Dakota State University. While at SDSU Dale participated in the wrestling program graduating with honors in 1987.

Following graduation from SDSU, Dale was employed with Osco Drug, Inc. at various locations until 1999 when he took a position with the Dallas Johnson Greenhouse until his death. Dale, along with his wife and family, started their own garden center business, Garden Treasures, in 2004.

Dale was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Glenwood, IA;

Dale was united in marriage to Cathy Beer on October 10th 1992 in Isabel, SD. He loved to spend time with his family and three children, Logan, Brooke and Cole and their numerous friends. Dale was a devoted husband and family man who loved hunting, fishing, boating, waterskiing, golf, and sports. He coached softball, baseball, and wrestling for his children and the local community. When Dale was coaching, he coached with all his heart, enjoying every minute he was able to spend with the kids. He also enjoyed visiting with family and friends and attending his kids sporting events and school functions. He was also a huge Husker and Viking fan.

Dale’s earthly life ended late Friday evening, February 16, 2007 in a tragic plane accident near Council Bluffs, Iowa at the age of 43.

Dale will be sadly missed by his loving wife Cathy, sons Logan and Cole and daughter Brooke all of Glenwood, IA, mother Marcella Peckham of Clark, SD, five siblings Marie and Tony Palluck of Clark, SD; Cindy and Jeff White of Fort Dodge, IA; Linda and Joe Beving of Watertown, SD; Dave Peckham of Sioux Falls, SD; and Doug and Jody Peckham of Minneapolis, MN; his mother and father-in-law, Adolph (Addie) and Margaret (Marg) Beer, Isabel, SD; sisters and brothers-in law, Craig (Marlayna) Beer, Council Bluffs, IA: Eddie (Gina) Beer, Isabel, SD; Doug Beer, Isabel, SD; Nancy (Thane) Crump, Watertown, SD; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Peckham, a paternal uncle, Jim Peckham, both paternal and maternal grandparents.
