My family is very much into searching our family tree. I'm not. I like to know the stuff but I find the actual research...*shrug* I can't say boring, because I like researching other subjects. Anyway, the thing I like most about family history is that it gives me a sense of belonging. I've always been teased about my red hair but now knowing that it's because of my heritage, I kinda enjoy the teasing. Silly, huh? Espeically since I'm only something like 1/32. There are lot's of good things I can say about being Americanm or even South Dakotan, but there's something about saying Irish American that makes me feel like a belong to a group that's, if not as big, at least as note-worthy. |
