In a night of homecoming festivities on the mountain, the Warriors scored early and often, breezing to a decisive 53-6 win over Rosamond.

Barry Jones was the workhorse for Tehachapi, registering 134 yards on eight carries and three touchdowns in the big win.

In the first quarter, Tehachapi built a 25-0 lead behind a Cory Lange 35-yard touchdown strike from Bobby Howell, two rushing scores from Marcus Curiel and a Miles Villareal 34-yard punt return for a touchdown.

Christian Terle also had a touchdown run in the second quarter to help the Warriors go into halftime with a 39-0 lead. Other standouts included Wyatt Vance with 47 yards on three caries and Ryle Snowder with 18 yards rushing.

Midway through the second quarter, the referees started the running clock, which ended the game just after 9 p.m. David Lara led the defense with two sacks in the shortened game, limiting the Roadrunners to only 85 yards of total offense.

Off the gridiron, basketball and baseball standout Justin Hedberg and volleyball standout Carley Cass were crowned as the homecoming king and queen at halftime.

Tehachapi (4-1) will open up their league schedule next week with an away game against Shafter.

With last Friday night's game fresh in everyone's mind, Warrior fans will be happy to know that Rosamond will officially no longer be on Tehachapi's pre-season schedule line-up.

Confirming with Athletic Director Patrick Snyder, the Warriors 2012 football schedule will consist of Exeter, Burroughs, Liberty, West and Arvin in the pre-season and SEYL opponents East, Highland, Garces, Foothill and North.
