Warriors Garner #6 Seed In Playoffs
North High at Tehachapi In Opening Round

The 2013 Warrior football team has a more clear picture on their playoff hopes this season after the brackets were released Saturday afternoon from the CIF Central Section administrative offices in Porterville.

Like 2012, Tehachapi was given a #6 seed and a first round game at home. Only this year, the Warriors will play host to league foe North High school, a team they defeated 42-7 just a few weeks ago. Last year the Warriors played host to West and were upset by the Vikings, after defeating them earlier in the season.

In Division II, El Diamante-Visalia earned a #1 seed; Kingsburg is #2; Garces is #3; and Redwood-Visalia is #4. All four teams have first round byes.

If the Warriors can defeat North, they will play Garces once again in Bakersfield with an opportunity to avenge a crushing season ending loss to the Rams.

The Warriors finished the regular season at 7-3, 4-1 in SEYL play, and will be advancing to the post-season playoffs for the 18th straight season under head coach Steve Denman. North Bakersfield High School finished at 4-6 for the season; 3-2 in Southeast Yosemite League play.

All first round playoff games begin Friday, November 15, at 7:00 pm.

There are 11 teams in the Division II tournament, and the Warriors would have to win four straight games to win a DII championship.
