The fast and furious wing-t attack wasted little time building momentum, cruising to five first quarter touchdowns to lift the Warriors to an eventual 49-7 victory over Foothill.

In limited action, Skylar Valencia took six carries for 106 yards, scoring three touchdowns on runs of 33, 8 and 8 yards.

Nathan Evans also added a 21-yard interception return for a touchdown and Micah FJeld caught a 16-yard pass from Chris Llamas to end the night for the Mountain Football starters after only 13 minutes into the game.

Ray Hackleman finished as the second leading rusher for Tehachapi (7-2; 4-0 SEYL) with 89 yards on 12 carries. Nick Steele also had 40 yards on eight attempts, Chris Rhodes scored on a one-yard run in the second quarter and Trent Reynolds had a third quarter goal-line touchdown run.

Llamas finished the night at quarterback with a perfect 4-4 passing for 55 yards and the touchdown to Fjeld. Valencia had a catch for 20 yards, Logan Soto a catch for 10 yards and Fjeld had two catches for 25 yards.

On defense, Fjeld and Hackleman had fumble recoveries and Isaiah Hutto and Evans recorded interceptions.

The Warriors also had a boost in the kicking game with the debut of Abraham Katona on kickoffs, a foreign exchange student from Hungary. Katona recorded four touchbacks on the night. Victor Rodriguez was also a perfect 7-7 on PATs.

The victory sets up a winner-take-all SEYL championship this week with Garces (7-2; 4-0 SEYL). The Rams defeated East 39-14 last week.

Kickoff for this Friday’s night’s big game will be at Sam Tobias Field in Bakersfield starting at 7:30 p.m.
