To Third Straight SSL Championship

The 1947-48 Warriors, under third year coach John Goodell, won their third consecutive South Sierra League championship! Led
by 6'3" center Fred Castro, the Warriors have posted an 18-0 league record during the past three seasons.

Season highlights also included winning the Lancaster Tournament by posting wins over Harvard Military Academy and
Antelope Valley-Lancaster. There were also impressive non-league wins over Burroughs-Ridgecrest and the Taft Wildcats.

Tehachapi also dropped some tough games during the season, losing twice to Antelope Valley, and once to the mighty
Bakersfield High Drillers, 45-42. Future National Football league star Frank Gifford led the Drillers with 13 points scored.

The Warriors season came to an end in the valley playoffs when Exeter defeated Tehachapi, 30-26, in a semi-final game in Tehachapi.
