Warriors Finish 3rd In Tough SYL
Garcia Named 1st Team All-SYL

Under first year head coach Moe Cramer, Mountain Basketball finished third in the rugged SYL with a 5-5 record; 13-11 overall for the season.
The winning season snapped a three year drought where the Warriors finished below .500 in both SYL play and the overall season record.

In pre-league play, the Warriors had a winning 8-5 record. The Warriors participated in three tournaments saving their best performance
for the annual Shafter Kiwanis Invitational. At Shafter, the Warriors overwhelmed Arvin; lost to Lompoc; out gunned Highland;
and then defeated West Bakersfield, 76-71, for the Consolation Championship. Ryan Jones earned All-Tournament team honors.

In league play, Tehachapi defeated both Ridgeview and Golden Valley twice; and then split the two games with West Bakersfield.
The SYL is one of the toughest leagues in Kern County.

The third place finish in the SYL earned the Warriors a spot in the Division III playoffs. In the first round at Delano,
Tehachapi lost a heart breaker to South Sequoia League champs Chavez, 70-63.

Senior Chris Garcia led the team in scoring earning 1st Team All-SYL honors; senior Riley Thompson, 6'6", led the team in rebounding and
was selected to the All-SYL 2nd team. Garcia was also selected the Team MVP by the coaching staff.
