Ladies Basketball Names All-SEYL
Six Warriors Touted As Among The Elite in League

After finishing their season as the second place team in the Southeast Yosemite League and reaching the CIF Central Section Division III quarterfinals,
six Lady Warriors were named all-league for this past basketball season.

Taking first team honors for Tehachapi (21-8; 7-3 SEYL) were Alyssa Garcia and Dani Peacon, second team went to Shelby Ricker
and Leja Jakstaite and honorable mention went to Kelsey Vance and Brooke Boyd.

Ricker, a junior, finished the season with 109 points, 56 rebounds, 51 steals and eight blocks, while Jakstaite, also a junior,
had 91 points, a team leading 47 blocks and the second most rebounds on the team with 139.

Kelsey Vance closed her senior year with 88 points, a team leading 144 rebounds, 39 steals, 17 assists and 17 blocks and Boyd,
a junior, had 109 points, 135 rebounds, 26 steals and 21 blocks.

This year's Lady Warrior squad was head coached by Renn Amstead and assisted by Sheri Dees and Jeff Peacon.

Below is a breakdown of all first team honorees for Tehachapi:


Alyssa Garcia -- Senior

The senior standout was one of the best guards in the central section, finishing with a team leading 372 points, 121 steals and 62 assists, while also contributing with 123 rebounds and 14 blocks. Garcia's points per game (14.3) and steals per game (4.7) were the best in the SEYL. In the past three years as a starter for Mountain Basketball, Garcia has amassed 931 points, 277 steals, 263 rebounds and 170 assists, putting her among the leaders all-time in Tehachapi High School history. Garcia is a three-time first team all-league selection.


Dani Peacon -- Sophomore

One of the best point guards in the central section had another banner year with 215 points, 87 steals and 59 assists, second best on the team in all three categories. Peacon's steals per game (3.0) and assists per game (2.0) were third and fourth best among all players in the SEYL, respectively. In just two seasons, the talented guard has recorded 476 points, 165 steals, 154 rebounds and 145 assists. Peacon's selection is her second first team All-SEYL selection.
