The roster for the ladies’ mountain basketball team has been set for the varsity Lady Warrior basketball team.
As announced by head coach Renn Armstead, playing for the varsity this season will be seniors Laney Ricker, Alyssa Garcia, Kayla Trevino, Kelsey Vance, Noemi Lorenz and Lexi Garrett. Juniors will be Daisy Moran, Brooke Boyd, Shelby Ricker, Leja Jakstaite, Brandi Davidson and sophomore Dani Peacon.
The Lady Warriors return two players that were first team All-SEYL in 2012-13 in Garcia and Peacon.
The Lady Warriors had a magnificent season in 2012-13 finishing 8-2 in SEYL play (2nd place) and 23-7 overall. The Warriors won both the Shafter and Arvin tournaments. The Warriors also advanced to the third round of the CIF central section playoffs and made an appearance in the state playoffs for the first time in many years.
The varsity will again be coached by Renn Amstead. Armstead will be coaching for the third straight season and has compiled a 16-4 league record and a 41-14 overall record in his first two seasons.
