Warriors Capture All-League Honors

After achieving a winning season with a predominantly young squad, three Warriors were honored to the All-Southeast Yosemite League team for varsity boys basketball.

Dalton Scaggs and Isaiah Johnson were named to the first team and Ryan Flick received second team honors for Tehachapi (15-14; 6-4 SEYL).

Ryan Flick collected the second most points (233) and rebounds (122) for Mountain Basketball in 2012-2013, along with logging 35 assists, 26 steals and 19 blocks.

Leading the team in steals and blocks were a pair of freshmen in Jonny Saavedra (50 steals) and Caeleb Roney (38 blocks).

Below is a breakdown of the two first team selections for Tehachapi:


Dalton Scaggs - Senior

Scaggs earned the respect of the entire SEYL this past season, playing through the pain of a knee injury to emerge as one of the top guards in Kern County.
The team captain was the leader on the team with 89 assists while also recording 187 points, 71 rebounds and 49 steals in 29 games.


Isaiah Johnson - Sophomore

Named rookie of the year in the SEYL, Johnson had strong first year on the varsity squad with a team leading 318 points, 38 three-pointers and an 85 percent free throw
percentage in 73 attempts. The talented sophomore was also second on the team in rebounds (119) and assists (23).
