Mountain Men Sweep Arvin and Shafter
Tehachapi Undefeated in SSL Play

The Warriors continued their winning ways in SSL play by sweeping two more opponents and imrpoving to 3-0 in league play.

On Tuesday, January 17, the Warriors demoralized Arvin High School, 70-22. Cory Lange, in limited action, led the Warriors with 19 points. Other leading scorers included Darren Smith 12, Tyler Beardsley 11, and Justin Hedberg added 8 and a team leading 7 rebounds.

On Friday night, January 20, the Warriors hosted Shafter and held on to defeat the Generals, 62-55. Lange led the Warriors with 22; other scorers included Hedberg 15, Henderson 10, Beardsley 5, Smith 7, Scaggs 2, and Saavedra 1.

Shafter fell to 2-1 in SSL play; 11-6 overall.

Tehachapi is now 11-7 overall for the season and 3-0 in SSL play. The Warriors continue SSL play this week with a game in Taft on Jan. 24 and a big game at home against Bakersfield Christian on Jan. 27.


Lady Warriors Upset By Shafter

The Lady Warriors split their two games this past week, defeating Arvin and losing to Shafter.

Against Arvin, Tehachapi defeated the Lady Bears, 55-47. Leading scorers for the Lady Warriors were Meagan Kilchrist 16, Paige Bennett 14, and Alyssa Garcia 12.

In the game versus Shafter, Tehachapi fell to the Lady Generals, 49-35. A very good Shafter team improved to 15-8 for the season; 3-0 in SSL play. Leading scorers for the Lady Warriors were Garcia 8, Schoenberg 2, Gutierrez 1, Snider 5, Kilchrist 7, Bennett 9, Simpson 3.

The Lady Warriors play Taft this week on Jan. 24 and Bakersfield Christian on Jan. 27.
