Lady Warriors End Season in Delano

The Lady Warriors rode to the playoffs on a high note with a pair of convincing league wins, but the season came to an end in the first round against #8 seed Delano, who pulled away in the fourth quarter against #9 seed Tehachapi.

Tehachapi (15-12) had a fast start in the game, leading 18-15 at the end of the first quarter, and tying the contest at 42-42 at the end of three periods.

However, Delano was able to outscore the Lady Warriors 26-16 in the final eight minutes of play, leading to the eventual 68-58 loss for Mountain Basketball.

Three Lady Warriors were able to score in double-digits in the game, with Paige Bennett leading the way with 14 points, followed by Bre Farinas with 12 points and Rachel Duff with 11 points.

Bennett also had six rebounds, five assists and three steals, while Farinas had eight rebounds and two assists and Duff six rebounds and two steals.

Other standouts in the game included Mackenzie Eberle with eight points and three assists, AJ Snider with three rebounds, and Amanda Viselli with two points, three rebounds and two assists.

Danielle Simpson, Erica Lange and Rheanna Cowee also had strong contributions by combining for 11 rebounds, while Sarah Breen had a basket.

Tehachapi finished as the second place team in the South Sequoia League and recorded their ninth-straight winning season since 2002-2003.
