Lady Warriors Split Games
With Arvin and Shafter

Shafter extended their quest for a league title by two games with a 54-36 win over Tehachapi this past week, but the Warriors still recorded a notch in the victory column last Tuesday with a 61-47 win over Arvin.

Mountain Basketball opened up a 27-19 halftime advantage over Arvin to start the game, outscoring the Lady Bears in every quarter including a pull-away 23-16 fourth period for the ending 61-47 victory.

Tehachapi (13-11; 6-2 SSL) had a balanced scoring attack against Arvin, with Amanda Viselli and Danielle Simpson contributing with nine points each, followed closely by Bre Farinas with eight points, Rheanna Cowee with seven points, and McKenzie Eberle with six points.

Paige Bennett was the leading scorer on the night with 15 points. Rachel Duff, AJ Snider and Sarah Breen also combined for seven points in the 14-point win.

Against Shafter, Simpson used her height to score 13 points in the paint, while Bennett had eight points and Eberle five points at the guard position. Meghan Kilchrist, Duff, Viselli, Breen also led the scoring attack with a combined 10 points in the league defeat.

The Lady Warriors will look to get back on track this Tuesday in their regular season home finale against Taft. Tehachapi will also have an away game this Thursday against Bakersfield Christian.
