Lady Warriors Earn First Win
Of New Season Over Highland-Palmdale

After falling in a pair of away games against Frontier and Bakersfield, the Lady Warriors dished up some home cooking to record their first win of the year in a 53-46 win over Palmdale-Highland last Tuesday.

The game was close at halftime with the Lady Warriors nursing a 23-21 lead, but a 22-9 third quarter blew the game wide open and Mountain Basketball coasted in the final minutes.

Tehachapi (1-2) had a pair of strong games from Paige Bennett and Amanda Viselli, who had 18 and 17 points respectively in the win.

Viselli also had four rebounds, two blocks and two steals, while Bennett had nine rebounds, two steals and a block.

Other strong games came from McKenzie Eberle, who led the team in assists with six while also contributing with eight points, three rebounds and three blocks.

Rheanna Cowee led the team with 13 rebounds and also chipped in with three steals. In points, Rachel Duff, Erica Lange, Sarah Breen, Ashtyn Snider and Alexis Schoenberg combined for 11 points in the win.

Up next for the Lady Warriors is a home game this Monday night against Burroughs-Ridgecrest.
