Warriors Post Two Wins
Over AV Christian and North Bakersfield

The Warriors have won two games in the new season by taking tournament wins over Antelope Valley Christian 71-29 and North 45-44 in early pre-season action.

Against AV Christian, Tehachapi (2-7) was led in scoring by Dallas Scaggs and Justin Hedberg, who each had 13 points. Also adding to the scoring was Ryan Harris and Robert Natividad with eight points and Darren Smith with five points. Nick Buttcane, Gabe Saavedra, Alec Johnson, Cameron Ingersoll and Nick Phillips also contributed with a combined 17 points.

"We're getting better each game, and we'll get some more players coming into the fold soon (from the football team)," said head coach Chris Olofson. "The kids are working hard and we'll put it together by league."

Against North, Hedberg was the leading scorer with 15 followed by Scaggs with 13 points. Nick Phillips contributed with nine points while Michael Minjares and Darren Smith each had four points.

In junior varsity action, the Braves (2-4) had a pair of wins in the Liberty Tournament over North (28-24) and Wasco (34-24). In their latest contest this season against Burroughs, Tehachapi fell 58-45 but had strong performances from Dakota Medovitch with 12 points, Ben Johnson with seven points, Blake Watters with six points and Dalton Scaggs with five points. Michael Sheley, Chris Perez, Micah Fjeld and Jeremy Duff also chipped in with a combined 14 points on the night.

This past week, the Lady Warriors fell in a close contest to Burroughs-Ridgecrest by a 58-53 final score. The Lady Warriors are now 3-3 in the pre-season.

Bre Farinas led in scoring with 14 points, followed by Amanda Viselli and McKenzie Eberle with 11 points each.

Rheanna Cowee led in rebounds with seven on the night, followed Rachel Duff, Eberle and Farinas each with six boards and Viselli with four rebounds and one assist.
