Mountain Basketball Travels To
Frontier For Valley Playoffs

Mountain basketball will travel to Frontier-Bakersfield for the first round of the CIF Valley Playoffs Tuesday night, February 23, at 7:00 pm. Admission is $7.00.

The Warriors are seeded #9 in the 16 team CIF Central Section Division III tournament bracket. The Tehachapi-Frontier winner will play the #1 Ridgeview (21-5) vs #16 Selma winner on Thursday, February 25. The championship game of the tournament will be held in Selland Arena in Fresno on March 6, at 4:00 pm.

The Warriors, champions of the SSL, finished the season with a 9-1 record in the SSL and 20-7 overall. Offensively, Tehachapi has been led by seniors Jordan Beardley (13.7 ppg); Doug Patience (13.0 ppg); and Christian Torres (11.8 ppg). Leading rebounders have been Beardsley (6.6 rpg) and Robert Siegmund (5.5 rpg).

Frontier, seeded #8, finished the regular season with a 5-7 record in the competitive Southwest Yosemite League. The Titans finished the season with an overall 14-13 record and have been led by Andrew Garrett (12.8 ppg) and Michael Marcuss (11.1 ppg).


Lady Warriors Meet Golden Valley
in 1st Round of Valley Playoffs

The SSL champion Lady Warriors will play host to Golden Valley-Bakersfield in the 1st round of the valley playoffs beginning Wednesday evening, February 24, at 7:00 pm. Admission is $7.00.

The Warriors are seeded #8 in the 16 team CIF Central Section Division III tournament bracket. The championship game will be held in Selland Arena in Fresno.

The Lady Warriors, 8-2 in the SSL, and 16-9 for the season, have been led in scoring by Amanda Viselli who is averaging 10.7 points per game. The top rebounders for the Warriors have been Persophonie Devereaux with 9 rebounds per game; Alyssa Cowee with 5 rebounds per game; and Rachel Duff with 4 rebounds per game.

Golden Valley is seeded #9 and finished the season with a 7-5 record in the tough Southeast Yosemite League --- a fourth place finish. The Bullpups were 10-17 for the season and were paced by senior gurad Crystal Hidalgo who is averaging 12 points per game.

The Tehachap-Golden Valley winner will play the winner of the #1 seeded Frontier Titans and the #16 seed Roosevelt-Fresno. The second round game will be played Friday night, February 26, on the home court of the lowest seed.
