The Lady Warriors secured a share of the 2010 South Sequoia League crown by defeating Arvin Friday night, 57-36, before a delighted hometown crowd. The Lady Warriors finished league play with an 8-2 record to finish in a first place tie with Shafter.

The Lady Warriors, under coaches Mark Bennett and Steve Walker, captured their sixth SSL crown in the past seven years. The Lady Warrior program has won six SSL titles since joining the league in 1992-93.

In the Arvin contest (Feb. 19), the Warriors were led by Amanda Viselli with 15 points while Persephonie Devereaux owned the boards with 15 rebounds. The Arvin Bears finished the season with a 7-3 SSL record.

Earlier in the week on Wednesday (Feb. 17), the Lady Warriors suffered a heartbreaking loss to rival Bakersfield Christian, 38-40. The loss in Bakersfield knocked the Lady Warriors out of sole possession of first place. Viselli again led the Warrior scoring attack with 15 points while Devereaux had a team high 12 rebounds.

On Tuesday (Feb. 16), the Lady Warriors defeated Taft 51-43. Viselli paced the Warriors with 18 points while Paige Bennett added 14 cantos. Bennett also hauled down 7 rebounds, as did Ashytyn Snider.
