Valuable Playing Time For The Titans

Katie Avila, one of the most prolific players in Tehachapi Warrior basketball history, is in her second season as a member of the Division I Cal St. Fullerton Titans.

In her sophomore season, she has appeared in 13 of the 19 Titans' games and has logged 75 minutes of playing time. As of January 31, 2009, Avila has collected 26 points and 25 rebounds. Her top game of the season was a 6 point - 5 rebound game against UC Irvine on January 3, 2009.

As a freshman, Avila appeared in six games for the Titans, averaging 1.5 points and 1.3 rebounds per game. She had a game high 4 points against San Francisco on November 19, 2007.

Wearing #14, the 5'11" forward earned a basketball scholarship to attend Cal State Fullerton to play for head coach Dr. Maryalyce Jeremiah.

As a Lady Warrior, Katie played all four years on the varsity basketball team. She was the SSL MVP in both her junior and senior seasons, averaging 16.6 points and 10.2 rebounds per game in her senior year. The Warriors won the SSL title all four years Katie played on the varsity.

The Titans are currently 3-5 in Big West Conference play, and 6-13 for the season. The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos are currently in first place with an 8-0 record.
