The 1981-82 DIL champion Lady Warriors include, left to right, Amy Hyatt, Karen Tiberghien, Karen Perryman, Elizabeth Suitor, Peggy Harris, Tracy Trimm,
Anthea Koutroulis, Gayle Nobles, Dianne O'Neil, Estella Gaeta, Terri Setbacken, Shelby Huston, and Julie Wright.
Lady Warriors Capture Second Straight
Desert-Inyo League Championship!
In her third and final year as a head coach, Sandy Powell led the Lady Warriors to a second straight DIL south division championship
and a third straight trip to the post-season CIF playoffs.
In DIL play, the story of the season was the Lady Warriors defeating Rosamond twice, 47-42 on January 12, and 46-45 in overtime on January 29.
It was the first time the Lady Runner's had lost twice to any team in league play in one season --- and the first time Rosamond
had not won the league championship (last year Rosamond played in the Small
School Division).
The lone Lady Warrior loss was a shocking upset at home against rival Mojave, 51-31.
In post-season CIF play, the Lady Warriors won their first game at home against Marshall-Pasadena, 46-40, behind an 18 point performance
by Anthea Koutroulis. In rounds two, the Warriors lost to Atascadero, 59-47.
