2021-22 Lady Warriors

League Record: 6-4 (14-10 Overall)


The 2021-22 Lady Warriors include #1 Allysa Taylor, #2 Riley Walden, #4 Trista Diefenderfer, #5 Sofia Pucciarelli, #7 Sara Vazquez,
#11 Ashley Neaderbaomer, #15 Desiree Torres, #20 Michelle Orellana, #22 Camille Foster, #30 Laura LaMonte, #32 Lindsay Tye and
head coach Scott Sheen. The Lady Warriors recognized Elizabeth Sheley for her efforts as a long time table official for Mountain Basketball.

Lady Warriors Finish 2nd In SYL
Diefenderfer Named To All-SYL 1st Team


Under first year coach Scott Sheen, the Lady Warriors finished 2nd in their final season in the rugged South Yosemite League.
Bakersfield Christian captured the league title at 7-3, while the Lady Warriors finished at 6-4.

In the pre-league season, the Lady Warriors went 7-5 including impressive wins over Palmdale, Taft, Rosamond, Wasco, and Garces.
In the annual Bakersfield Tournament, the Lady Warriors were stomped by #1 ranked Bakersfield High, but came back with huge victories
over Bakersfield area powers Liberty and Centennial. Trista Diefenderfer was named to the all tourney team.

In league play, the Lady Warriors jumped out to a 4-1 record and had a steady hold on first place. Tehachapi then hit a
losing streak going going 2-3 in their final five games, to finish in second place.

Throughout the season, Tehachapi was led in scoring by juniors Michelle Orellana and Laura LaMonte, along with freshman
sensation Riley Walden. On the boards, junior Trista Diefenderfer and sophomore Camille Foster paced the Lady Warriors.

The Lady Warrior junior varsity team won the championship in the SYL, and along with the returning varsity players,
the future looks bright for the Lady Warrior program. In addition, the Lady Warriors are also moving
into a new league next season which shoudn't be as tough as the SYL.

Earning 1st team All-SYL honors were Trista Diefenderfer and Riley Walden (Rookie of the Year). Michelle Orellana was named
to the 2nd team; while Laura LaMonte and Alyssa Taylor were Honorable Mention.
