Offense Explodes To Big Win
Mountain Football Rolls Over Arvin, 51-7

After spotting the Bears a touchdown on the opening kickoff, the Warriors dominated the rest of the way in a convincing 51-7 drubbing over Arvin last Friday night.

Tehachapi rushed for 387 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground to register their most impressive offensive output so far on the season.

Skylar Valencia finished the night as the top rusher for Mountain Football in limited time, rushing for 139 yards on just 11 carries, scoring twice in the third quarter. Christian Terle provided most of the first half runs, rumbling for 68 yards through the middle of the Bears defensive line.

After starting the game down 7-0, Tehachapi (2-2) wasted little time getting on the scoreboard when Tyler Kroeger took an end-around 24 yards for a touchdown. Kroeger also had the longest run from scrimmage on the night for Tehachapi on a 62-yard run in the second half to finish with 86 rushing yards overall.

Caleab Hutto also had a five yard rushing touchdown at the beginning of the second quarter and Anthony Curiel had 68 yards rushing and two touchdowns in the second half. The Warriors also had an 11-yard pass completion from Chris Llamas to Logan Soto.

On defense, Dakota Medovitch snagged an interception from his safety position and returned it 61 yards for a touchdown. David Carter also had a safety on special teams when he blocked a punt in the endzone just before halftime.

In the kicking game, Victor Rodriguez reached a milestone in the Warrior record books by going a perfect 7-7 on point after attempts. Rodriguez is only the ninth Warrior in school history to accomplish the feat and now is tied for second all-time for PATs in one game.

The Warriors recorded their seventh straight victory over Arvin, averaging 39 points per game in a winning streak that started back in 2007.

Mountain Football will have a bye this week to prepare for West-Bakersfield next Friday night. The game against the Vikings on Oct.4 will be a homecoming game, with a start time set for 7:30 p.m.
