ARVIN -- With 334 yards rushing and two rushers in the 100-yard club, Tehachapi's ground game was enough to overcome the Bears in the South Sequoia game.
Gary Evans ran for 142 yards and a touchdown and Chad Bennett rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown to pace the Warriors.
Despite the Bears' 160 passing yards, Arvin fell to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the SSL.
Arvin scored first when Juan Hernandez ran in from 9 yards in the first quarter, but Evans scored on a 76-yarder in the same quarter for the Warriors.
After Jorge Gutierrez kicked a field goal from 30 yards to give Arvin a 9-7 lead, the Warrior defense held the Bears scoreless for the rest of the game.
