Hey, my name is Shana, and Our Lady Peace is my obsession. I was lucky
enought to go to one of their shows this summer. It was on July 26th, and the boys
were touring with eve 6 and third eye blind. At the time i didn't know who eve 6
were, or i could've got their autographs, but i really like them now, and me and
jessica were talking about how great their preformance was, and we liked them. Then
It was time for Our Lady Peace *YAY!!!* and i was geting all excited, and when the
boys came out, the place exploded, everyone was so happy!! And people were moshing
and pissing me off, so i held on to the fence (i was in the second row by the way)
and stared in amazement. Everyone was singing along, it was great. But i think they
should've turned the mike up, it was so quiet, you could barely hear Raine singing!
But it was fine because you know what he was saying in the first place. But it still
should've been turned up. I did not take my camera in because i am a fagnut! And i
regret it so much now. And my lazy ass sister wouldn't go get it for me either. She
told me to go get it myself. Let me explain further.... she wanted me to get out
of second row in the mosh pit that i earned by getting there roughly 5 hours early
and make me miss part of OLP's performance and go get my camera! That strikes me
as wrong. But at least i got to go. When olp were done i got outta the pit and
bought a shirt and got back in, in the 5th row for 3eb. I wasn't excited about them
coming out, i really didn't care actually. Since I really didn't care about 3eb i
just moshed and stuff until some dude told us it was our turn to crowd surf, and
jessica wouldn't go so i did. It was so cool!
The first song i heard of OLP was Superman's Dead, when i saw the video on
MTV, yes MTV used to play olp's videos.... But that was a long time ago. And i went
out and bought the Cd, and i wasn't obsessed until about the end of last school
year. I only know of one person in my school that like olp, and that's my best
friends sister, so..... And since no one knows who they are, i am constantly telling
people about them. I think that olp deserves more recognition from MTV, and
everyone else. I mean they are such a great band and they care so much for their
fans, and everythin..... and they're really nice guys too. Damn MTV all to hell
twice!!!!!!!

Raine Maida- February 18th, 1970
Mike Turner- June 5th, 1963
Duncan Coutts- February 4th, 1969
Jeremy Tagart- April 7th, 1975
Duncan is not the original bassest, Chris Eacrett was. But him and the band
had creative differences, and they asked Duncan to fill in. They had originally
asked duncan to be in the band, but dunkle wanted to go to college.... but aren't
we lucky he came in the band after all? *YAY!*
When olp are touring,
Jeremy sleeps on the bottom on the right bunk
Duncan sleeps beside him on the bottom of the left bunk
Raine sleeps above Jer
Mike sleeps above dunkle
OLP are from Toronto Canada. Raine dropped outta college to make the band.
And though he screwed his education, aren't you glad he did? Hee hee.
It is rumored that all the boy's have girlfriends, Raine with Chantel Kreviazuk
And mike and jer with girls both named karen, at least i THINK it's jer and mike....
i am not sure, but thats ok, because that has pretty much nothing to so with the
band's music!
The band has quite a fan base. There are surprisingly a lot of US fans (including
myself), you know considering they're Canadian. Some of the bands people talk about in
CC that are Canadians i've never heard of!!!! This fan base has e'zines, Clumsy Congress
Transparent humans, and Pied Piper's Union.
Clumsy Congress is a message board of OLP fans from around the world. We are
all psychotic with vivid imaginations. Keep the Spam to a minimum (i should know)!
Tranparent Humans is an email with concert reviews and questions by the
fans. So is The Wasted Years.
Pied Pipers Union is a fan club type thingy, you will recieve pictures, posters,
an autographed picture, news letter and also a membership card that will allow you
to get into olp soundchecks. It is 23 dollars american. Very worth the money to
me, thought i just sent mine in, so i haven't got anything yet!!! :o)
Here is something everyone at CC hates!!! When people (we call them Teenyboppers,
or teenys, or TBs) like olp just because of Raine! Yes Raine is attractive, but
there are 4 members in olp, and they all contirbute equally to the music!!! And
TBs won't know the rest of the band members names or anything, they'll just say,
"OLP is my favorite band in the whole world, raine is so hot!!! He's a sexgod!"
yes, someone came in at CC and called Raine a sexgod, it was the funniest thing
we'd seen for awhile. But if you are a true olp fan, then youwill know all the words
olp songs, names, birthday, other info about each band member, all CDs, all covers,
what the sanskrit on the naveed case and everything else about the band!!! We
know it all!! YEAH BABY, GET SOME!!!!! hee hee
On their official sites, the boys call in and leave us Cracks in the Pavement
to let us know what they're up to and what they're doing next. The latest cracks
told us that they are heading back into the studio and are done touring, and will
be touring again next summer!!! :o) Sorry if all the pics didn't work!
