Jonny Lang

The Jonny Lang concert on Thursday July 22nd at the Washington Pavilion was awesome. Getting up and standing in line by 7:30am a few weeks ago was well worth it. There were 5 of us (Justin, Mark, Jim, Bob and myself) sitting in the front row of the Orchestra Pit. Less than 2 feet from the stage. During one song a string from his Fender guitar broke and the pick flew and landed right in front of me on the stage. Of coarse when we stood to applaud, I grabbed it. It was his signature pick for his tour. Take the time to see him live in concert. And just so you know... in the picture above, Jonny is the 3rd from the Right.

Lectomies

I went under the knife. I got both of them snipped off, and the thing that dangles in the middle. Yes - that's right, I got my tonsils out. After 33 years, I finally shut-up. Unbelievable right? Well I had a little help by having a tonsilectomy, an adenoidlectomy and a uvulectomy. My uvula (the dangling piece) was huge too, so it was removed. This is the before picture. As you can tell, my tonsils (were) rather large. They were interfering with my sleeping, where I would have Apnea and stop breathing at times, so I went to a specialist and he took one look and said, "That's a no-brainer, your tonsils are the cause." I will wait a few weeks after everthing has healed to post the after shot. I had a lot of nervous laughter (giggles) while on the operating table. Afterwards I felt really drugged up and it took about 3 hours of rest to bring my blood pressure down. Pam, who stayed with me throughout the surgery, dropped me off at home and I drank and drank and drank Peach and White Cranberry juice - it's awesome. My roomate Brian said he didn't even hear me breathing this morning, which means possibly no more snoring - YEAH !! Thanks to Dr Todd and the Sioux Falls Surgical Center.

Hind Site

There's always two sides to every story. I've always seen the front side. Here's the real ending to the real story. And finally, for all you Davey and Goliath fans.

You've Been Warned...but did you even notice?

Have you happened to see this little sticker on a Coca-Cola vending machine? I didn't think so. Also, just in case you didn't get the chain email at work, here is the truth regarding Coke vs. Water. Finally, I also found this killer coke site...(not so funny though).

F-16 Fighting Falcon

This is an F-16 flying just above where I work. It gets extremely loud when they land 6 at a time. But that's a small price to pay. Here are more pictures of F-16s.

Soldier's Girl

Showtime recently released their original movie, Soldier's Girl, to DVD, which is currently available to rent at Hollywood Video. It stars Troy Garity , the son of Jane Fonda. He portrays Barry Winchell, a soldier who was brutally murdered on base after falling in love with a local performer Calpernia Addams . This is a true movie and ends tragically. I am still shocked at the final minutes. I am finding it hard to finish the entire movie. I've started it over to the beginning 5 times already and have only watched the ending once.

Rear entrance of the Semen building

I find it absolutely funny to see this truck parked out back of the Semen building, which has a rear entrance to Touchez, a local Karaoke bar - on Tuesdays.

5th Floor View

As I was taking the elevator to the 6th floor at the Tower of David Apartment to visit my mom, an elderly lady had to hop on from the 5th floor. Before I left, I stopped the elevator on the 5th floor because the view had to be captured on my Sprint Cam. What's the theme? Butterflies, Gargoyles and Mother Mary? This floor needs a visit from Trading Spaces.

Twin Speaks

Ready or Not... Evan and Jaron finally have a new CD coming out in April. Their last album was released in 2000. They've made us wait a few years, what's a couple more months. Also, take the time to check out their website, it's hilarious. CLICK ON JOURNAL AT THE BOTTOM OF THEIR SITE. Here's Jaron's entry from Feb 17th, "I've been drinking so forgive me. @!^ You know what I Mean? Anyway just thought you should know. There. I feel much better now. -J"

My grandpa was a HIC

427 GOOGLE HITS. That's how many times you might be able to read about my grandfather, Charles Osborne. I grew up knowing about his bizarre ailment. My 2nd grade teacher (Mrs. Christopherson) asked me in class if I knew who held the world record for hiccupping. Jokingly, I said "My grandfather".

In the fall of 1990, I took him to the movie "Young Guns II". How many people can say they took their 97 year old grandfather to any movie? He knew every make and model of gun that appeared on that big screen. He loved the hot buttered popcorn and ate popcorn for the next 7 months until he died on May 1st, 1991. There's a lot more to tell about the old fart, I just may write a biography about him someday. What's your world record?
