My grandpa was a HIC

427 GOOGLE HITS. That's how many times you might be able to read about my grandfather, Charles Osborne. I grew up knowing about his bizarre ailment. My 2nd grade teacher (Mrs. Christopherson) asked me in class if I knew who held the world record for hiccupping. Jokingly, I said "My grandfather".

In the fall of 1990, I took him to the movie "Young Guns II". How many people can say they took their 97 year old grandfather to any movie? He knew every make and model of gun that appeared on that big screen. He loved the hot buttered popcorn and ate popcorn for the next 7 months until he died on May 1st, 1991. There's a lot more to tell about the old fart, I just may write a biography about him someday. What's your world record?

This is going to seem a little weird, but my name is Jeremy Williamez and I'm really interested in writing about your grandfather. I'm a writer from Winnipeg Canada, (where, incidentally there were actually hiccup epidemics in 1919, 1922 and 1923), and I would really like to include your grandfather's story in a novel I'm working on, with a very loose hiccups theme. I would really appreciate any stories you remember, especially how he felt in 1990 after his hiccups went away. Did he miss them?
Anyway, if you can spare the time to respond, I would REALLY appreciate it.
Thank you very much, in advance,
Jeremy Williamez
