PROFESSIONAL
AND RESEARCH EXPERIENCES
(1994-2005)
·
Carried out research towards
Ph.D in the field of Nanostructured Materials from School of Pure
& Applied Physics, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, India under
the guidance of Dr. M Abdul Khadar, Professor, presently at Department
of Physics, University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram. The broad area of research includes the
synthesis and characterization of nanoparticles and nanocomposites.
·
Presently, working as Scientist in Centre for Materials
for Electronics Technology (C-MET).
Current areas of research include the preparation and characterization
of nanomaterials
,
development of
polymer
ceramic
microwave
substrates,
new ceramic compositions for capacitor applications, development
of polymer-ceramic
nanocomposites.
·
Developed translucent
nanoporous
silica aerogels through supercritical drying.
An
autoclave is designed and indigenously fabricated for the
supercritical drying of alcogels.
Highly porous translucent aerogels were prepared through a new
composition which is under the process of patenting.
·
Well-versed in operating
X-ray diffractometer, Mercury Porosimeter, Microhardness Tester, Impedance
Analyser, Ultrasonic velocity measurements, TGA/DTA, Microprocesser controlled
muffle furnaces etc. Got experience in
the alignment and operation of high temperature camera for carrying out
temperature dependent structural studies, and gracing angle incidence set up
for thin film samples.
·
Investigated the impedance
spectroscopic analysis of certain inorganic nanostructured materials and
nanocomposites, and studied the grain and grain boundary effects to the
electrical conductivity.
·

·
Awarded
KSCSTE Young Scientist Award in Physical Sciences
in 2006. ·
Worked as Visiting Scientist at the
Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm
and got experience in pulse laser deposition of thin films.
