The Munich Olympia Stadium (72.000 spectators) was the scene where Olympique Marseille and AC Milan played the second edition of the Champions League. The UEFA Cup final between Austria Salzburg and Inter Milan, with Dennis Bergkamp and Wim Jonk, was not a great one. In the first leg, played in the Ernst Happel Stadium Vienna, the Italians won 0-1. Jonk scored the only goal in Milan to bring the cup home 1-0. Bergkamp became tournament topscorer, scoring 8 goals.

The first leg of the 1994 Supercup final between Arsenal and AC Milan (0-0) was led by referee Van der Ende. In Italy Milan won 2-0.

The Cup Winners Cup final came too late for ex-Chelsea coach Ruud Gullit, he was replaced by player/manager Gianluca Vialli, when the played VfB Stuttgart in Sweden. The German side played without Dutch captain Frank Verlaat (suspended). The London team had former Feyenoord-goalie Ed de Goey to keep his goal clear (1-0). Vialli played 90 minutes and won the cup after the goal of Zola.
