Doctor's Point / Purakanui

Produced by the Otago University Dive Club

Access: Pretty good on both sides of the point, though a short walk along the beach is required.

Weather / Sea conditions: Exposed to the north, northeast and east only. Especially well sheltered from the south.

Visibility: Usually 10-12 metres but the sandy bottom can be stirred up at times, bringing it down significantly.

Description: There is a small rocky reef bordered by white sand. Good snorkelling, with plenty of
Moki during summer.

Depth: Max 12 metres
