My great friend caitlin came over on friday night and informed me that she heard this kid i know was going to be sleeping over for the show, so we figured we would head out that night. we (me, cait and my friend amy) ended up arriving a little after 12midnight and there were already a few cars. these girls put the numbers on our hands, we were 6,7&8. so then some time passed and we met boys from new jersey and went on an exciting walk around the arena at which point i almost ripped my pants from jumping over a fence. we played cards with them in their car and did more fun stuff. then people started to show up at like 7 and 8 and 9am. by that time we moved out of the cars and to the grass hooray us!
(left to right:me, amy&caitlin) ok, so then a whole bunch of time went by. many people called it SATURDAY. ha ha! we all got sunburns and were ultra-tired. we took some video and it was a super time yay yay! then it was like 6pm and i found out for sure that the backstage pass thing had pulled through, so we got backstage passes for this afterparty with the band. it looked like this! (it had a white part that had the date and said party but i didn't get it in) ok, so then i jumped up and down a lot because i was so excited. then they let us in and everyone ran and we got up against the barricade about 6 inches to the left of the center. so we were right in front of billy but a smidgen to the melissa side. during disarm jimmy blew me a kiss and during another song billy blew me a kiss.(and you know how you think its in your direction when they do it, well i saw it was to me, and then the girl next to me grabbed my arm and was all like "oh my god jimmy just blew a kiss to you! and did the same when billy did it to me. so it is confirmed! hehe) the show was great music, but the people there were extra-insane! they were purposely trying to hurt each other, which defeats the whole purpose of going to a show, but oh well.... and it seemed like everyone that had to be pulled out was pulled right over my head! i lost an earring and have lots of bruises all over me. so i survived the show and was ultra-soaking wet afterwards. ewww! then i was checking the floor for picks and whatnot i found a graphing calculator. how silly! who loses a graphing calculator at a pumpkins show?! ha ha! then i met up with my people to go backstage...we slapped on our cool passes and show up at the backstage entrance and had to tell them who we were so they could check the list. i felt all excited and important! we got in and got some drinks and munchies and were just sitting around talking and who comes in but billy corgan. it was so informal and cool..... he walks thru and says hi to people and then sits on a table and signed some things for people and talked to everyone, when i got to him i shook his hand and asked if he remembered me he said he did and gave me a hug. i had him sign my pass and then told him keep up the good work and how SP means lots to me, and then i told him "i'm not sure if you get many compliments on the song rotten apples, but i just want to tell you it's a beautiful song and it means so much to me." he went on to tell me that they have played it a few times live before, i told him i missed it and said they should play it more often. he smiled when i was talking about rotten apples. he wasn't taking pictures with anyone that night. oh well...
so then i went on to james who just happened to be right in front of me, it was so weird just standing right next to james with no security guy there telling me to step away. cool! i said hi and got a hug. i had him to sign the pass and asked the generic question of how bugg was doing, he said real well. he was drinking heinekin and was pretty much quiet like he always is. i got a picture with him. i look real silly with him, but hey! i was very happy and excited!
after james i headed over to jimmy, because he is a little doll! he was hanging out in the corner and when i got over to him, i smiled big and gave him a big hug. i don't remember exactly what i said to him because i was in awe...so i had him sign my pass and got a picture with him. he is a sexy little thing!(i mentioned how he spoke to me about his cats and dogs and i didn't remember what he said their names were, so he told me again and me,the dummy again doesn't remember, oh well!)
i went on to melissa. again i hugged her and told her she was beautiful. she said thanks and when i told her great show, she said something like "oh yeah you guys were right down front right...?" he he it was very cool! i had her sign my pass and she wrote my name too. then i took a picture with her and she was ultra-nice. she told us to "take care of yourselves girls" like she was telling us to be strong girls and have fun living or something. very cool! : )(notice her arm around me!!!!!!!!!! :) ) so then we mingled and hung around a bit more and i got to talking to some guy i met at the munchies table about using tongs to pick up chips when it didn't matter if he was going to eat the ones he was touching anyway.... he he! so then the band left one by one.... and we caught up with the guy that got us the passes and i thanked him infinitely for everything he does for us! at that point, we headed out and got some stickers from the radio station guy. they say smashing pumpkins and the radio station. i have extras, so if anyone has anything like that from their radio station and would like to trade that would be cool! after all of this we headed home.....i was going a bit nutty from lack of sleep and was terribly exhausted by the sun.... i don't even remember the ride home. ha!
