Rolling Stone-
MCIS concert review
(1995)

"If you come, please expect the unexpected," read the ad the the Smashing Pumpkins' show (their first gig of the year) at Chicago's Double Door. The 250 lucky fans who crammed into the venue were aptly rewarded as the pumpkins rolled out 23 freshly penned songs, many of which later appeared on their epic double album, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. Members of the press were banned from the show by Billy Corgan, who wasn't in the mood to be critiqued.
