----> I got into this play against my own will. Since Joseph is a musical play and contained only singing, tons of girls tried out for it at our school, but guys that were brave enough to sing infront of hundreds of people were hard to find. This was a huge problem since Joseph is written to cast mostly men. They threatened to cancel the play because guys weren't trying out, some girl friends I know bugged me constantly to join, I refused of course, many times. Finally one person convinced me just to come to one of the practices to watch and that was it. So I stayed after school and they casted me right away (very desperate.. lol).

----> As practices went on it was time to try out for main parts, I was already one of the brothers (Dan) which is in most of the play but eveyone seemed to want to try out so I decided I'd give it a shot. I sang the solo for the part of the Butler and got it. Since I'm not well known in the 'drama clic' they posted me as "Butler - person who we don't know his name".. I found out later that it was me. Then later I got an extra part to be 'Al Capone". Practices were many, long, and throughout the school year.

----> Overall it was a very time consuming activity, but really fun and awarding especially during the final performances. Our first peformance was for elementary senior students from various schools, and three more performances for the public ($10). The turn out was huge, and always had a standing ovation. Everyone that I know were greatly surprised how extremely well it turned out. I have a video recording of the play to remember it by. Unfortunately I don't know how to put videos on the net so these pics will have to do. Enjoy!!
