My Favorites (Books, Music, Movies, Games, etc.)

This is my Favorites section, where I talk about my favorite stuff! It's all about, ummmm, like, my favorite stuff! Yes. Books, movies, you name it I've probably got a favorite for it. In fact, you can just sign my guestbook and ask me what my favorite of this is or of that... And I might put it down on this page! Wouldn't that just make you feel so special? Yes, of course it would. Now eat your broccoli and vote for me.

BOOKS

Ah books. You know, I haven't been reading nearly enough lately. Read the Dark Tower series by Stephen King recently--again. Shizzat, does that man know how to write. Hearts In Atlantis, The Dark Half, The Stand, Nightmares And Dreamscapes--I don't think I've ever read a King novel I didn't like. I'm always fond of Dean Koontz, of course, and there's John Steakley, and Tolkien, and Rice, and countless others, but I'd say King's still my favorite.

I just started reading the Wheel of Time series, and I must say Mr. Jordan's one of the most phenomenal fantasy writers of our time, right up there with Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. Despite the fact that the series is already ten books long, and each book looks as big as a damn dictionary, it's so engrossing I'm done before I even realize it. I just recently finished book 9 (Winter's Heart), and for the past three books, I've been a little disappointed. It feels like there's too many storylines, and all of them are moving too slowly. Still, Jordan has kept things interesting, and I'm still excited to finish the series.

MOVIES

You can't have a Favorites Section without mentioning America's Favorite Pasttime, right? Well, so many good movies have come out lately that it's really hard to pick a favorite. There is of course The Matrix, possibly the greatest sci-fi movie ever made. And then there's the LOTR movies (first better than second, definitely). Oh, and Blade, can't forget Blade. Really hard to pick a fave. I guess I'd have to say "The Crow" is still my all-time favorite movie, though.
Note: "Mortal Kombat: Annihilation" is not, by any stretch of the imagination, a good movie. Neither is anything with Madonna (with the exception of "Dick Tracy"). I need not--and will not--get into just how bad Dungeons & Dragons was, though the words "wet fart" do come to mind.

MUSIC

Music? Pretty simple. I like damn near everything but pop and country. Well, even country has a few talented individuals (namely Johnny Cash). Old school KMFDM, Rob Zombie, and Powerman 5000, just to name a few. All sorts of other shit too. I won't list it all.

VIDEO GAMES

This is a tough one. I haven't played many video games lately. Well, Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring kind of sucked, though Two Towers was fun for a bit. Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance is a good time, though lacking the entertaining variety of fatalities the previous titles had. And oh, those loveable Final Fantasy games... I have yet to play one I didn't like (although 7 was a bit disappointing). Phantasy Star IV for the Genesis, of course, still remains the best RPG ever. Other than that, lots of old school stuff kicks ass (Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, the original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, and Splatterhouse 3 & Vectorman for the Genesis, to name a few).

Well, that pretty much sums things up for my favorite stuff. If you have any suggestions, leave them in the guestbook, or Email me at the address at the bottom of the screen. Thanks!
